Ive been very fortunate to earn my living in the wonderful world of sport. I started my working life as an apprentice professional footballer at Manchester United in 1978 and had 5 and a half great years there, after Five seasons in the reserves, I signed a 2 and a half year contract at Peterborough United playing over 130 1st team games in the Fourth division.
In 1986 I signed a one year contract with Carlisle United who were in the 3rd division, I vowed at the press conference that I would take Carlisle out of the 3rd division...and I did, in to the Fourth division!!!!!
After a serious knee injury near the end of the season, I fell into semi-professional football and was employed as a Sales representative with Maxwell Hart, who supplied Schools, Universities and Golf Clubs, with all their equipment requirements.
After 3 years in the industry, I decided to set up my own business in 1993 and over the years the company has grown in size. I absolutely love the industry I am in and have the drive and desire to take it on to greater things, our sucess is a team effort, the staff I employ are knowlegable and dedicated, I would not swap any of them.
On a personal note, I am happily married to Jane for 19 years, with two beautiful daughters, Danielle who is 18 and Nicole 15. My spare time is taken up running my daughters around, Nicole swims at Stockport Metro 6 times a week, so catch the name, a budding Gold Medal Breastroke winner!!
